Katie Norman - 1st Runner-Up
1. Which celebrity do you think you look like?
My father once told me to allow life to take its course and know that “What is meant for me is already mine.” These words have encouraged me to continue moving forward even in unfavorable situations. The goals I set before myself may come with obstacles presented in my path, but with a diligent work ethic the outcomes I pursue will come in their own unique timing.
2. What is the strangest thing in your fridge?
A negative mindset as well as a negative attitude both serve as my top pet peeves. As a person who constantly invests into embodying a healthy mindset in order to grow, I have recognized the harm any other mindset can potentially impose. Negativity allows room for complacency to foster, which does not give space for evolution to occur. It is so important to make mental adjustments in order to reach your full potential!
3.What’s something you only do when you’re bored?
I believe it's important to stay true to your words and be mindful of your commitments. To keep track of all tasks and events, I keep a planner and create a to-do list. This method of organization allows me to prioritize and allot my time to what is of the most importance to me. Maintaining this orderly structure has allowed me to design a successful balance between my academic, personal, and pageant life.
4.What is a purchase you made that you immediately regretted?
Although it may sound like quite the opposite of relaxation, I enjoy lifting weights to shift the state of my mind from bustling to ease. During my workouts, I focus on the gratitude I have for my health and wellness. This outlet of fitness requires my full attention, ridding my mind of external factors which generate stress. After each workout I walk away
feeling refreshed and ready to conquer each day.
5.What kind of Barbie would you be?
My dream is to pursue a career in healthcare and one day become a doctor! As I complete my Bachelor of Science as a molecular biologist, I also dedicate time to serving with a medical volunteer program as well as utilize my role as a phlebotomist to reach my goals. I know providing care is God’s way of working through me to leave a lasting impact on the lives of others.
